I’m interested in soil organisms, especially springtails. I have a mastership of taxonomic identification of springtails. I have also a good ecological method for sampling in the field .Short description of Project
I am interested in soil organisms, especially springtails. As part of my project, I am studying how disturbances such as defoliation of forest caterpillars, rainfall regimes and urbanization by trees influence soil springtail communities and how these affect ecosystem functioning. of the ground. The tree forests I work in are the mixed boreal forest dominated by Populus tremuloides affected by the forest tent caterpillar, a controlled plantation of six native tree species (Acer saccharum, Betula papyrifera, Larix larina, Pinus strobus, Picea glauca, Quercus) subject to reduced water availability and the urban forest of 5 different cities in various urbanization contexts
