Interests and Expertise

I am particularly interested in what shapes peoples’ perceptions of the urban forest and what leads to their engagement in tree planting and care. I am also interested in how municipal and non-profit groups engage with communities and how they use the resources they have to do so. I wouldn’t consider myself an expert in anything, but I enjoy talking with other people about urban trees, greenspaces, and environments – including birds!

Short description of Project

My research explores the ways in which urban forests are governed, how their capacity to govern is shaped, and what the impact of these varying capacities are on green equity and community perceptions, participation, and support of urban forest programs and policy.
